What was your inspiration for DuMort?
I was thinking of the phrase, “Don’t speak ill of the dead,” and wondered what it might look like if there was a law that forbade speaking of the dead in any capacity. The characters (one who is haunted by a ghost and one whose livelihood is speaking to spirits) sprang up as naturally in conflict with this secondary world.
